WK569 was founded in 2009, at the StudioWK di Esine (Bs) by Federico Troncatti, Ezio Martinazzi and Pier Enrico Villa.
The project is a synthesis of musical language that results from the interaction of man and machine articulated on different levels of perception, both “electronic self-generating” (elettromatic) and “theme improvisation” through development of sound architectures managed in real time. WK569 activity takes place mainly in the electronic and electro-acoustic field: the sound material is generated and treated from structured algorithms, GFA language, and written for an Atari computer via MIDI messages. These messages are then sent to the sound generators (VST, VSTI, Yamaha TX816, Kurzweil R2500) or samplers. The group has been invited to participate in notable events including: “Vexations-Variations” at the Triennale of Milan, the Concerts of Sincronie Association of Milan, as well as the headquarters of the Slovak Radio in Bratislava, and the festival of electronic music and electroacoustic “Atelier XXI”. WK569 also received the “Sincronie 2011” award with the composition “Exurdans eclipsis 7D8” in memory of Fausto Romitelli.
Federico Troncatti, since 1988 alongside his work as a composer to that of electronic researcher in music with MIDI protocol, working among others for several years as a studio assistant and researcher at the electronic music studio AGON direct Milan by Luca Francesconi.
Ezio Martinazzi, musician and programmer, is in charge of technical and musical aspects by controlling generative algorithms and hardware interfacing.
Pier Enrico Villa, sound engineer and producer, manages the processing of all audio signals, software and DSP, culminating with the phase of mastering and producing.
