FAUSTO BALBO
Fausto Balbo started as a guitarist founding in 1988 Jesus Went To Jerusalem with three friends. The band played a powerful and heavy mixture of hardcore, funk and hard rock recording a self-released tape and a very long series of live gigs in Italy.
In 1991 from the ashes of JWTJ Balbo founded Der Tod (Fausto Balbo and eclectic vocalist Simone Basso) sounding something in between metal and new wave. Balbo started to work and experiment with Electronic music. In about four years Der Tod released two 7” (one split with Paul Chain) and a cd under the Last Scream Record label. Balbo’s interest in electronics and in J.G Ballard’s writing led him to the recordings of “Zero” (2000, Snowdonia label) his the first solo album.
Balbo has released another record “Falbo” on Snowdonia and various collaborations with Madame P, Femina Faber, butoh dancer Vito Morano and Architorti string quartet. His recent collaboration with Andrea Marutti brought him to experiment both with analogue and digital sound sources.
