Piallassa (red desert chronicles) (2008)Sound artist, field recordist, photographer and lo-fi video maker, Punck is the pseudonym chosen by Adriano Zanni, for his experimental music project. He creates his sound canvas manipulating many different kinds of acoustic, concrete and natural sources with audio editors and software.
He participated in many experimental music festivals in Italy and nowadays he keeps to privilege live activities. During his sets, he uses a laptop, portable CD players, various objects, field recordings and self-made videoclips.
Punck has released records for such great experimental labels like Afe Records (Nowhere Campfire Tapes), Creative Sources Recordings (A Constant Migration – between reality and fiction -) and Setola di Maiale (Drunk Upon the Holy Mountain – w/Logoplasm).
On July 2008 Boring Machines he released Piallassa (red desert chronicles), his most romantic and personal record to date.
On the 50th anniversary of Antonioni’s masterpiece The Red Desert, Adriano collected some of his thousands of shoots he made in the Piallassa area, where the movie was shot the year he was born. From this collection, Red Desert Chronicles (Postcards from Ravenna) took shape, a box containing 61 single black/white prints of the different aspects of the post-industrial area born on the seaside of Ravenna.
