DUCHAMP - NAR

Year: 2013
Record label: Boring Machines

Nar is the first solo record of DuChamp. It has been composed and recorded through reharsal space changing, ideas deleted, fatwas from former lovers during year 2012 in Berlin.
All tracks are played by DuChamp and recorded and mixed by Diego Ferri. Brian Pyle (Ensemble Economique, Starving Weirdos) sung in “A Worship” and also did the mastering.
Through the five tracks on the record, different aspects of DuChamp’s love for droning emerge: on the opener “Gemini” long accordion waves creates a trance-like luminous drone with is enriched on the way by DuChamp’s ipnotic chanting. “Protect me from what I want” is a darker affair, with the baritone guitar rumbling in the background on a monotonous note. “A worship” has a song-like structure with voices repeating an anthem over a synth drone. “A way to grasp my joy immediately” is again relaxed on low frequencies, while “Seisachtheia” is an improvisation between DuChamp’s baritone guitar and Filipe Dias De on sitar.
